How to select a successor
How to select a Successor?
Yogis, Gurus, Monks, and Saints understand the impermanence of their
time on Earth and the importance of appointing a successor—a
custodian capable of carrying forward their teachings with the same
dedication and purpose. They share their wisdom with individuals who
can safeguard and uphold both the knowledge and the faith.
When the time comes for a master to step down, they must choose a
successor. This is a challenging task, as it involves selecting someone
who reflects their own values, philosophy, and culture—essentially a
true mirror of themselves.
The biggest war of Bharat in Mahabharata happened due to selecting a
successor.
With the passage of each era, everything fades away, but the soul and
knowledge endure. The soul, which is eternal, preserves this wisdom
within, as it never dies.
Aryans were pioneers in knowledge, who were not only teaching, but
also practicing all laws of nature, giving to mankind for health, wealth
and peace. That is why, we feel knowledge never dies. If this is passed
on to a worthy successor, the legacy of knowledge will flow like a river.
Wise people select their successors early in life, a practice often
observed in the business world. Leaders allow their successors to
manage operations while providing guidance and mentorship.
Many businesses fail due to poor successor choices, and similarly,
numerous spiritual heritages fade away because of the wrong selection.
The soul of the selector serves as a constant guiding force, whether in
business, personal life, or spirituality.
Faith, belief, compassion, and kindness must all be considered when
choosing a successor. The selection also requires thorough evaluation
of the person’s family and personal life balance, professional
achievements, and spiritual journey, along with their character,
attitude, behavior, values, ethics, and integrity.
Leadership transition is always tough.
You really need someone who can take care of your duty wisely,
gracefully, obediently, the way you have done in so many years.
Successor-related challenges are something we all face in our personal
lives. Choosing the wrong successor can leave your soul restless and
devoid of peace. Therefore, approach this decision with utmost care
and caution.
Peace arises when happiness is present—they are like brother and
sister. Peace comes in the leader's mind, while happiness fills their soul.
